Judge Roy Bean

You know the story of Roy Bean—the man who came to prominence (of sorts) in his late 50s when he moved to an area west of the Pecos in Texas. He became a justice of the peace, famed for running his court out of a saloon (and coming up with some interesting rulings, to the say the least).

Roy was fixated on the English actress Lillie Langtry, which was appropriate since he was based in the town of Langtry. But despite what he said, the town was named after a railroad construction foreman, not Lillie.
