Mannie Clements Found Out that Dead Men Tell no Tales

mannieclements-blogThe cousin of John Wesley Hardin and brother-in-law of assassin Jim Miller was involved in an El Paso-based organized crime ring.  Down on his luck, he reportedly threatened to blow the whistle on his pals if he wasn’t paid off.

On December 29, 1908 Clements was drinking at the Coney Island Saloon when somebody shot him in the back of the head.  Nobody in the crowded bar saw anything, Mannie took his secrets to the grave.
