August 2, 1892. Tom Graham (photo), a principal in Arizona’s Pleasant Valley War, is gunned down as he drives a wagon near Tempe. He identifies enemies Ed Tewksbury and John Rhodes as the assassins before he dies. Both eventually get off–and each becomes a lawman in later life.
