The special summer show from the American Plains Artists (APA) group opens at Fort Concho’s Barracks 6 with an evening program on Thursday, June 27 starting at 5:30 pm. Five award-winning artists , chosen by the guests from last summer’s show at the fort, will display a dozen works each, filling the building with paintings covering many western plains themes.

The American Plains Artists show will stay open until Sunday, August 4 and is open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10-4 and Sundays from 1:30—4:30 pm. They are closed Mondays. National Cowboy Day on Saturday, July 27 will feature special programing at the exhibit. And for May and June, the fort has a special display of original cavalry uniforms and equipment from the late 1800s at the Barracks 1 Visitor Center at 630 South Oakes.  For more information call (325) 481-2646 or visit fortconcho.com.
