Sailors Diggings, OR.

The Triskett Gang left a mark on the mining town of Sailors Diggins, Oregon.  On August 3, 1852, the boys were all drunk and went on a rampage—killing 18 townspeople, including women and children.  They also broke into the assay office and stole about $75,000 in gold before heading north.

Furious miners went after the outlaws, who were weighed down by the gold.  A gunfight broke out and all five gang members died.  But they stashed the gold before that; it was never found.
