Outlaw Queen Starr comes to a blood end.

February 3, 1889. “Outlaw Queen” Belle Starr is gunned down from ambush while riding home near Younger’s Bend, Indian Territory. It’s still unclear who shot her. Edgar Watson, who sharecropped some of her property, was tried for the crime. Belle had threatened to turn him in on another murder charge unless he left the area. The evidence was flimsy and he was acquitted. Some believe Belle’s son Eddie Reed did it; they were at odds over a number of issues. But the case is still technically open and unsolved.
