Nobody is convicted in the shooting of Virgil Earp.

January 31, 1882. Ike and Phin Clanton are taken into custody for the shooting of Virgil Earp. They’re released on $1500 each. Two days later, at a preliminary hearing, seven witnesses testify that Ike was nowhere near the shooting sight. The case is dismissed. But that doesn’t end the violence in Tombstone. Less than two months later, unidentified Cow-boys assassinate Morgan Earp in a local pool hall.
