The McLaury brothers planned to get out of Tombstone…

One of the ironies of the OK Corral shootout—participants/Cow-boys Frank and Tom McLaury (photo) were about to leave town when the battle began.  Just where they were headed is in dispute.  Their brother Will McLaury said they were going to visit him in Fort Worth.  But McLaury biographer Paul Johnson believes they were headed to Iowa for their sister’s wedding.  In any case, they obviously didn’t get out of town fast enough.
