Warren Earp’s threats over a lost lover.

Warren Earp (photo), the youngest of the “Fighting Earps,” gets into trouble at Yuma, Arizona on November 9, 1894. He is living with a woman friend, but she leaves him for unknown reasons. Warren believes that “Professor” Behrens, a violinist and owner of a Yuma music hall, has encouraged the lady fair to leave. Earp corners the professor on the bridge between Arizona and California. He threatens to kill the man; Behrens forks over $25 and was set free. Arizona authorities arrest Warren, but he’s let go when he shows the incident occurred on the California side of the bridge.
