March 28, 1868. Four members of the Reno Gang—led by Frank Reno (photo)–are arrested and jailed at Council Bluffs, Iowa. Over the past few weeks, they have been robbing county treasuries across Iowa. In fact, the outlaws’ actions basically bankrupt two counties. The gang have been one of the most wanted criminal groups in the country, and Pinkerton agents are confident that the gang is out of business. But the bad guys have other ideas…
