San Angelo Frontier Day Calvary.

Experience the thundering hooves, pistol shots, jumping and slashing sabers of the old horse soldiers at the Regional Cavalry Competition at Fort Concho on April 19-21.
Forty riders in period uniforms using replica equipment will bring to life the 1800s frontier cavalry on the historic fort’s Parade Ground.

On Saturday, April 21 enjoy Frontier Day at Fort Concho that starts at dawn with a pancake breakfast followed by ongoing entertainment, arts and crafts, old time baseball and living history, sheep shearing and ranching demonstrations, and children’s events. The finals of the Cavalry Competition take after lunch. All events are free except for a $6 charge for the pancakes.
