the-poachers-daughter-blogAuthor Michael Zimmer received the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum’s 2015 Outstanding Western Novel Award for The Poacher’s Daughter, published by Five Star/Cengage Gale.

Zimmer loves writing about the gritty, real West, filled with characters whose living and dying inspire our love of the American West.  He is a great believer in research before writing, and admits he can spend months and months researching a topic, like he did on the buffalo hunters and traders, for The Poacher’s Daughter.

Zimmer, who has published 12 novels—with his 13th on the way, was thrilled to receive the award at the Western Heritage Awards Banquet at the Museum in Oklahoma City on April 18. Congratulations Michael!
