Frank Canton rode on both sides of the law.
September 15, 1849. Josiah Horner is born near Richmond, Indiana. He heads to Texas when he’s 15–and soon begins riding the outlaw trail. He breaks jail in 1878 and moves to Wyoming, where he changes his name to Frank Canton. Over the next decades, Canton will be a lawman, a hired killer, and adjutant general in Oklahoma, and more. Even today, he remains one of the West’s most enigmatic–and dangerous–figures.
