The Wild Bunch rider killed a policeman in South America.

It appears that Butch Cassidy (seated right) and the Sundance Kid (seated left) got into some trouble in South America. In a newly-found document, an American named Frank Boyd—an alias for Sundance—was carousing in an after-hours restaurant in Antofagasta, Chile in August 1905. A police officer came to quiet things down. Sundance/Boyd gunned him down. The shooter was arrested and put in jail. A U.S. diplomat bailed him out, at the equivalent of $50,000 American dollars. Sundance and Butch then made their way back to Argentina. They were killed in a Bolivian shootout three years later.
