He runs from a horse theft charge in Arkansas

April 6, 1871. Edward Kennedy and Wyatt Earp are arrested by a deputy U.S. marshal in the Cherokee Nation. They’re charged with horse theft and taken to federal court in Arkansas. Earp is released on $500. He is scheduled to be tried in November at Fort Smith–but he jumps bail and never shows (Kennedy does the same).
