Nellie Cashman Monument True West
The Nellie Cashman Monument, Midleton, County Cork, Ireland.

Nellie Cashman is known for her work as a businesswoman and philanthropist throughout the West and western Canada.  She made a big mark in Tombstone in the 1880s and the Klondike during the Gold Rush of 1898.

Just a few months ago, a marker was put on her grave in Victoria, British Columbia, where she died in 1925.  But that monument was not the first for the Angel of Tombstone.  In 2015, the people of Midleton, County Cork, Ireland put up a stone to mark Cashman’s birth there in 1844.
