Bill Brazelton held up a stage outside Antelope Station, Arizona in September 1877. During the robbery, some wind blew aside his mask and passenger D.C. Thorne got a good look at the badman’s face. Brazelton almost shot him, but changed his mind because women and children were present.
A couple of months later, Brazelton sauntered into the Cabinet Saloon in Prescott and ran into the owner—D.C. Thorne. The two stared at each other for a moment in recognition before Brazelton turned on his heel and walked out. They never met again.
