The brothers come to Tombstone

December 1, 1879. Wyatt, James and Virgil Earp enter Tombstone, Arizona in a search for their pots of gold. Just over two years later, they would all be gone, driven away by the violent confrontations with the Cowboy faction in Cochise County.

Interestingly, Josephine Sarah Marcus Earp would later claim that she first came to Tombstone with the Pauline Markham acting troupe on the same day–December 1, 1879. But later research showed that to be false.
