Doboy Taylor

Phillip “Doboy” Taylor was involved in Texas’ Sutton-Taylor Feud.  In 1867, he and his brother Jack participated in a gunfight in which two soldiers were killed at Fort Mason.  Doboy managed to escape a Sutton posse which had come to arrest him two years later, although Jack died in the fight.

Ironically, Doboy’s end had nothing to do with the feud.  In 1871, he was trying to get a job in Kerrville. Taylor got into an argument with the man who had the job. Both went for their guns. Doboy died with three bullets in him.
