Kid Curry took his time in avenging his brother’s death.

January 1896. The outlaw Logan brothers have a beef with rancher Jim Winters near Landusky, Montana. Some say it was because the boys believed Winters was spying on them for the Pinkertons. Others say he had a property disagreement with Johnny Logan. When the Logans rode up to Winters’ house, he opened fire, killing Johnny.

It took five years, but somebody assassinated Winters in 1901. Nobody was ever identified, but it’s generally believed Harvey Logan—Kid Curry (photo)—fired the shot.
