Luke Short makes quick work of a fellow gambler.

February 25, 1881. About noon, gambler Charley Storms accosts faro dealer Luke Short (photo) on Tombstone’s Allen Street. Storms–who is still drunk from the night before–is upset over losing money at the tables. He goes for his gun. Short is faster and puts two bullets into his heart at point blank range. Storms gets a place in Boot Hill. Bat Masterson witnessed the shooting. So did Dr. George Goodfellow. Luke Short was let off on grounds of self-defense.
