Pearl Hart’s entrance into Old West legend.

May 30, 1899. Pearl Hart and Joe Boot rob a stage running between Globe and Florence, AZ. They get away with around $430–but they’re quickly arrested.

Hart becomes something of a celebrity, being the rare female outlaw. She is the subject of magazine photo spreads that shows her in male garb as well as female attire. They make her something of a legend–far beyond her accomplishments.
