A baby girl who was named after a saloon.

On Prescott’s Whiskey Row there was a saloon named Cob-Web Hall. One night about closing time, a small bundle was found on the floor near the door. The customers gathered around and found a baby girl. Each put in a claim for the child so saloon owner Captain Fisher decided to settle the matter with dice. Each one put up $10 as a pool for the infant. Colonel Bob Groom, a bachelor, threw four 5’s. But Judge Charlie Hall threw four 6’s and won. Groom claimed the right to name the baby: Chance Cob-Web Hall.
