rob-ickesRob Ickes (which rhymes with “bikes”) has become one of the most renowned and respected dobro players in Bluegrass.

He is a founding member of Blue Highway, which released its first CD in 1996. Rob has garnered many awards including IBMA Dobro Player of the Year (seven times). Big Time is a genre stretching recording of original and traditional tunes along with songs penned by Bill Monroe, A.P. Carter and Merle Travis. The lovely acoustic sounds of the group and Rob’s virtuosity will please both traditionists and those of more contemporary taste.—Bill Groll / CountryRootsMusic.com
