ralph-stanleyTake a stroll through Bluegrass and Gospel memories with Ralph Stanley and friends.

This reissue of early favorites with one new is a terrific compilation of the familiar and comfortable. One highlight of this CD is the (nearly) a cappella title cut of Great High Mountain in which an older and wiser prodigal son learns that being home is better the second time around. Another standout presents a warning to “Turn Back, Turn Back” to the righteous path. Both extol the qualities of Bluegrass Gospel.—Sandy Whiting
