Mollie True West

Mollie Edwards was a prostitute in southeast Arizona when she met Buckskin Frank Leslie.  In 1887, Mollie moved in with Frank at his ranch, about 19 miles from Tombstone. Both were known for drinking and losing their tempers, so the relationship was turbulent.

On July 10, 1889, Leslie suspected Mollie of having an affair with Jim Neil. Leslie killed Mollie and shot and wounded Neil.  Buckskin Frank was arrested and sent to prison for the killing. Mollie was buried at the ranch; her metal gravestone has her name and date of death wrong.
