Nellie Cashman was known as the Angel of Tombstone for her compassionate ways. In 1884, she ministered to the men responsible for the Bisbee Massacre, in which four innocent bystanders were killed. She prayed with them in jail, brought them food and other items. She helped tear down a private grandstand built for people to watch their hanging.
