New adventures for the Texas gunfighter.
June 1, 1871. An 18-year-old John Wesley Hardin arrives in Abilene at the end of a cattle drive. He’s joined the outfit (run by his kin the Clements family) to escape murder charges in Texas. He’ll later claim to have killed up to seven Mexicans and Indians on the trail, but that appears to be an exaggeration.
In Abilene, he runs into fellow shootist Wild Bill Hickok–and he puts another notch on the gun, this time accidentally killing a man who was snoring.
