The Complete Roadside Guide to Nebraska

I love state roadside guides and personally collect them.  You’ll usually find mini-histories listed with the historic sites and landmarks on the state’s highways and byways. This book has that.

I especially appreciated the cattle history of Omaha and Council Bluffs, and the various locations of Indian battles across the state. Here’s the problem. The book contains no maps. No sectional maps, state or highway maps; nothing. One can find great history in this book along State Highway 2, but the book doesn’t tell me where that is. Without the maps, the traveler is greatly hindered.  —Linda Wommack
