Hacienda Brothers

musrevuhaciendabrosWestern Soul. That’s what the band labels its music, which is a mix of R&B and Country.

Frankly, the first time through, I didn’t think it worked. Sure, guitarist Dave Gonzalez is on fire, driving the band wherever he wants it to go. These boys are outlaws, going their own way on tracks “She’s Gone” and “Mental Revenge.” Then they toss in the Spaghetti Western instrumental “Saguaro,” and I’m hooked. Give it that second or third listen, and you will be, too. —Mark Boardman
