A dash Gospel and a sprinkling of Country and Folk are all wrapped up in Blues on this debut CD. The album highlights a poignant tribute to the Man in Black with “He’s Gone to Search Heaven.” In contrast, “She Stole My Truck Blues” is, well, think Country, Hee Haw style. Writers Dan Searles and Dave Lokos wrote these songs after obsessing over Johnny Cash’s recordings. This CD will satisfy those hankering for a delicious musical gumbo. —Sandy Whiting
