In this l890s Romance, a wealthy Texas beauty tries to prove her worth by running away to lawless Oklahoma Territory to work in a saloon.
She falls for a handsome cowboy who is so dumb that he robs the bank by accident. Worse, his bag of stolen loot is filled with shredded newspapers. Later, back in Texas, these same two individuals hesitate to buy a ranch cheaply because the land is covered with pools of oil. This comedy of errors ends in a High Noon show-down complete with ticking clocks and a killer arriving on the noon train. Too bad Smiley Burnett is gone; this book could be adapted into a good script for a B-Western.
