book_reviews_honky_tonk_heroes_and_hillbilly_angles_country_music

Young fans of Country music will enjoy this collection of brief profiles of some of the first entertainers in the business such as Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams.

Sabrina, age 12, of Wickenburg, Arizona, especially “liked the front cover and the title of the book,” adding “I really enjoyed this book and the pictures are good. I also liked that it said how long their lifetime was.” Beyond the single-page outlines of each performer’s life, I agree with Sabrina that one of the charming attributes of this book are the colorful drawings. Sometimes it’s difficult to see a book through a child’s eyes and figure out what might attract them to it, but this book has it figured out.
