Christian Romance readers will enjoy Kim Vogel Sawyer’s latest book Song of My Heart, portraying 22-year-old Sadie Wagner, the member of a large and loving family living in Indiana in 1895.
When Sadie’s family needs financial help, she volunteers to take a job working in a mercantile in faraway Goldtree, Kansas. Meanwhile, handsome Thad McKane arrives in Goldtree to work as a lawman; he’s determined to capture a gang of whiskey peddlers. Thinking she’s delivering molasses, thoughtful, gentle Sadie becomes innocently involved in the bootlegging operation and is arrested by the man she loves. This story is fun and reminiscent of more innocent times.
