This is the first “Luke and Jenny Adventure” in a series of historical novels aimed at young readers.
Younger readers should feel a kinship with the siblings Luke and Jenny, who are not too keen on vacationing in Tombstone, Arizona, until they are suddenly swept back to the 1800s. Interesting guides, like the ghost of the Grand Hotel, help Luke and Jenny learn the story of the Earp brothers and what led to the infamous shoot-out at the O.K. Corral. I particularly like how some children today could relate to the father fighting in Afghanistan. Overall, I would recommend this book to younger readers that I know. —Stephanie Harris, 16, Carefree, AZ
