The photography in this volume is so good, it stands on its own. Each photo seems to draw you into the moment, no matter the subject. Each one elicits from the viewer a sense of meaning, a purpose of the moment.
The text is rich with background of the photos, the settings, when they were taken and what was happening, yet I found myself more intrigued with the photos. My favorites of the photos include one of a superb clouded sky shadowing a massive rock monument, and the one showing a glimmer of sun breaking through over a grove of cottonwood trees. This book will take you away—at least for one glorious afternoon.
