Ed Schieffelin must have been a brave man. In 1877, he set up shop at the Brunckow Cabin, a few miles southwest of the town he would help found and name—Tombstone. He ignored the numerous graves around the building—some murder victims, others killed by Apache raids in the area.
Nothing bad happened while he was there. He began prospecting northeast of the cabin, and discovered silver at Goose
