peasall-sistersIf you’ve seen O Brother, Where Art Thou, you’ll recognize the Peasall Sisters.

They played George Clooney’s daughters on film and recorded “In the Highways” for the movie’s soundtrack. There’s probably been no better sister act in the history of Country music since the Carter Sisters. Besides having angelic vocals, they accompany themselves flawlessly on guitar, mandolin and fiddle, and don’t hesitate to perform a cappella as on “Where No One Stands Alone.” Their second album is a blend of original and traditional songs, covering Bluegrass, old-time Folk and camp meeting hymns. This CD is a slice of heaven come down to Earth. —Gus Walker
