save-the-bisonI had no idea.

I mean, anyone who knows American history is aware of the important and symbolic role the buffalo played in both the white and Indian worlds. My eyes were opened after reading Mary Ann Franke’s research on the endangered bison herd of America. There are several arguments, regarding the environment, future population of the herds and, oh yes, the ever present political correctness of the issue. Franke is a seasoned veteran of the Yellowstone National Park system and has spent years on the subject. Her conclusion is obvious to me: save the buffalo. It’s that simple. For all concerned, this is a must read.
