The historic Old Spanish Trail runs from Abiqui, New Mexico, through the northwestern corner of Arizona and ends at Los Angeles. Is there another Old Spanish Trail in southern Arizona? John Mazella Manchester, New Hampshire You might be thinking of the Captain Juan Bautista de Anza Trail that ran north from Horcasitas, Mexico to Tucson, then up to the Gila River and down that stream (part of the Giola Trail) to Yuma. De Anza pioneered that trail in 1775-76 to open the colonization of California.
