The other day I was watching the movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and they talked about an Indian tracker by the name of Lord Baltimore. Was there any such person?

I called Dan Buck and Anne Meadows, experts on Butch and Sundance, and this is what they had to say:

“We’ve never come across a verifiable fact about an Indian tracker named Lord Baltimore; we’ve always assumed that he was a figment of [screenwriter] William Goldman’s imagination. (That’s why they paid him big bucks.)”
