violent-encounters_deborah-jon-lawerence_mountain-medows-massacre_sioux-warsDeborah and Jon Lawrence obviously invested massive amounts of time and effort into their latest work, Violent Encounters.

For this book, the authors interviewed nine historians on topics that ranged from the Mountain Meadows Massacre to the Sioux Wars. This compilation will certainly appeal to both a novice to the subject as well as the grizzled veteran. The Lawrences took a unique stance in today’s interpretation of the past. They did not try to craft their book into something that is politically correct by today’s standards nor did they try to prove their own points. They strove to find the truth, and they should be applauded for their work.
