Coproduced by Bobby Bare, Jr., this comeback album is the legend’s first in 22 years. For the uninitiated, Bare, Sr. has been around long enough to have sung these classics the first time. He teamed up with Chet Atkins in the 1980s and became the first artist in Nashville to produce his own albums, leaving the scene when Country went Pop. His opening rendition of “Are You Sincere?” is probably the best one ever recorded. Some things get better with age; Bobby Bare is one of them.   —
