burrito-deluxeThis one slipped through the cracks—hard to figure since it features keyboardist Garth Hudson of The Band and pedal-steel guitarist Sneaky Pete Kleinow of the Flying Burrito Brothers.

It’s a genial mix of Country, Folk and Cajun with a smidgen of Rock thrown in. But this enchilada is a bit bland; methinks it needs some musical onions, peppers and hot sauce to really get things going. Still, the cover of the Box Tops’ “The Letter” is nice, and the tribute to radio DJ Rex Bob Lowenstein is pretty funny. Maybe the next helping of Burrito Deluxe will be more satisfying. —Mark Boardman
