DC comic hero Jonah Hex is going to hit the big screen in his current Horror-Western incarnation, which means he’ll be fighting demons or zombies or something of the sort like a West Texas Van Helsing with a curdled tapioca kisser and a pair of .44 dragoons.

The good news is, Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine, the creative team behind the terrific action picture Crank, are aboard, and Warner Bros. is pushing the money buttons with visions of franchises dancing in their heads. This film may be at least one way that the Western can stay vital to younger audiences. If anybody can pull this off and do it right, it’s Taylor, Neveldine and the ornery, unkillable, Jonah Hex.
