Frank Hamer

hamer-blogFrank Hamer was a legendary lawman/Texas Ranger.  He was in dozens of gunfights, proving his courage. He led the ambush that brought down Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker. But the 1967 movie “Bonnie and Clyde’ portrayed him as incompetent and idiotic.

His wife and son sued the movie producers in 1968 and got an out of court settlement three years later.  The Hamer family reportedly got six figures.  They also cooperated with a documentary, “The Other Side of Bonnie and Clyde,” to set the record straight.  Of course, few people saw it.
