On the weekend of June 26-28, 2015 thousands will pilgrimage to the Battle of Little Bighorn National Monument to commemorate the 139th anniversary of the battle, which the Indian tribes call “The Battle of the Greasy Grass”. The solemn occasion will be marked for the 25th annual Battle of the Little Bighorn Reenactment, hosted by the Real Bird Family, along the banks of the river between Crow Agency and Garryowen, Montana. Visitors should plan a full day touring the Monument, which has a national cemetery, an excellent welcome center and museum, a walking and driving tour.
