Emmaline Bradford nervously leaves her home in England and ventures to the Kansas plains into an arranged marriage with a man she hardly remembers. Emmaline has been told her childhood friend Geoffrey Garrett is a wealthy wool merchant. In reality, he’s a sheep rancher. On her wedding day, she refuses to say, “I do.” Geoffrey does not have enough money to pay for her passage back to England, so they agree to live separately at his ranch until he can raise the money. Meanwhile, they battle drought, rattlesnakes and barn fires. In time Emmaline discovers she’s really in love, but now she must convince Geoffrey.
