These seven short stories are masterfully written, in lyrical language, by an author genuinely familiar with Wyoming and its people.
Within these stories hover first love, jealousy, loss, murder, coming of age, racial prejudice and smoldering revenge. Always in the background can be felt the great quiet of the prairie, while each theme is of man’s personal longing to be understood. I don’t often read a book twice, but this one has found a home on my bookshelf.
