What is known about Jim Clements, the cousin of John Wesley Hardin? David Lambert Menifee, California Jim Clements was a member of a gunfighting family, which included at least four other pistoleers in addition to John Wesley Hardin. He was also related by marriage to contract killer Jim Miller. Clements was born in the 1840s. In 1871, he accompanied his cousin Wes on a cattle drive to Kansas—and killed two men en route (Hardin downed another four himself). Historian Bob Alexander says Clement
